Washing Of The Feet - Maundy Thursday
According to the tradition of the Church, the feet of 12 chosen men are washed on Maundy Thursday at the Mass of the Last Supper. In order that the full meaning of this rite may be expressed to those who participate in the service, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, wishes to vary the norm from "men who are chosen" to "those who are chosen from amongst the people of God." In keeping with the role of women in the Church today, the Holy Father feels that women too may be included in this rite and requests all Pastors to choose from a larger group, in order to represent all sections of society - namely men and women, young and old, healthy and sick, clerics, consecrated men and women and the laity to make up the 12 apostles.

Therefore, we request the zonal representatives to suggest the names of 2-3 persons from their zone, so that we can suitably form the group as per the directives of the Holy Father. This will become a permanent change in the Roman Missal and the Holy Father reminds all Pastors to adequately instruct both the chosen faithful as well as others, so that all may participate consciously, actively and fruitfully in this rite.

24 Hours Adoration
Our Holy Father, Pope Francis desires that during the Jubilee Year of Mercy, we should observe 24 Hours Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in all Parishes around the world. In response to his request, as per the directives of the Archdiocese of Bangalore, our Parish has opted to have the Adoration on the 11th and 12th of March 2016 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on both days. Each Holy Hour will be conducted at the Adoration Chapel, by a special group from the Parish, and the faithful are exhorted to make every effort to spend at least an hour each day with the Eucharistic Lord.
